How to Replace the Headlight on a Hyundai Sonata

    • 1). Engage the parking brake on the Sonata and turn the ignition off.

    • 2). Open the hood and locate the mounting bolts on the rear of the headlight assembly. Remove the mounting bolts by turning them counterclockwise with a socket wrench. Set the bolts aside for later use.

    • 3). Detach the electrical wiring connector from the rear of the headlight assembly. Remove the plastic bulb cover by turning it counterclockwise.

    • 4). Unplug the connector from the base of the bulb in the rear of the headlight assembly. Put on gloves then press on the bulb spring to remove the old bulb from the socket.

    • 5). Insert the new bulb into the socket then reattach the bulb spring and connector. Reattach the electrical wiring connector. Replace the mounting bolts by turning them clockwise with the socket wrench until they are secure.

    • 6). Close the hood and test the new headlight to ensure it is working properly.
