- 1). Check the vehicle battery and cable to the motor. Use a voltmeter to check the voltage at the motor. The motor must be receiving a minimum of 10 volts DC.
- 2). Replace the 30 amp in-line fuse located in the positive power lead from the switch panel to the battery.
- 3). Inspect the On/Off switch for loose or disconnected wires and secure any which appear suspect. Check for voltage at the switch terminals with the switch on. If voltage is absent, replace the switch.
- 4). Check the ground wire to verify that it is properly grounded. Replace the ground wire if it is broken or defective. Relocate the ground wire to a more efficient ground if necessary.
- 5). Replace the motor if all remedies fail.
- 6). Replace the motor in the event of clutch or gearbox failures. These units are integral to the motor assembly and non-repairable.
- 1). Replace the leg if the worm gear is stripped or worn or a jack nut is seized or stripped.
- 2). Inspect the bevel gears for obstructions. Remove the obstruction and grease the gears with extreme pressure grease.
- 3). Clean the ram tube if it is dirty and lubricate with silicone spray.
- 4). Replace the leg if the ram tube is bent.
- 5). Check the hitch weight of the trailer and make sure the leg is rated to support the weight.
- 1). Clean and grease the bevel gears with extreme pressure grease.
- 2). Inspect the bevel gears for missing teeth and replace the gears if any are noted.
- 3). Check the hitch weight of the trailer and make sure the leg is rated to support the weight.
