- 1). Find out if the email address you are sending to is no longer active. Call the person you are attempting to email, check her online profiles on social networking sites or contact a mutual friend to see if she has a new email address. The most common reason that Mailer Daemon keeps rejecting the email is that the account is no longer active.
- 2). Send the email again on another day or at another time. Sometimes Mailer Daemon notices are the result of a system outage. The email you receive when the message bounces will also tell you if your email will be resent again or if the program will try again to deliver your message. If you keep trying, it may go through.
- 3). Send the same email to the same recipient at the same email address, but use another account to do so, if you have a second email account. If the message goes through, this might indicate that your email account has a problem. Speak to your information technology department or your system administrator to see if your account has a problem or check the program's settings.
