Pumpkin Birthday Games

    Don't Say Pumpkin

    • Spray paint several clothespins orange and allow time to dry. Give one to each party guest. Tell the guests they cannot say the word "pumpkin" throughout the party. Being that they will play games with pumpkins, this will be a challenge. If a player catches another player saying the word "pumpkin," he must give up his clothespin to that player. The player with the most orange clothespins at the end of the party wins the game -- and a pumpkin.

    Pumpkin Seed Pitch

    • Clean out the inside of a medium-size pumpkin and leave the top off. Place the seeds to the side. You can clean and dry the seeds for an easier game; however, wet seeds make this game more challenging. Mark a standing line about 15 feet from the pumpkins for adults and 10 feet from the pumpkin for children. Line the inside of the pumpkin with aluminum foil. Give each player 10 pumpkin seeds to try to toss into the pumpkin. The player who lands the most seeds in the pumpkin wins the game.

    Pumpkin Rolling

    • Give each player the same-size pumpkin. Set out markers for the players to write their names on the pumpkins and decorate them. Use a long rope to mark a line outside with a lot of room. Have the guests line up with their pumpkins along the line. When you say, "Roll that pumpkin," the players must roll their pumpkin as far as they can with one push. The player whose pumpkin travels the farthest from the line wins the game.

    Pumpkin Guess

    • Fill a medium to large cardboard box with miniature pumpkins. Guests should only be able to see a pile of pumpkins at the top of the box. They must guess how many total pumpkins they think is in the box. Give each player a small slip of paper and a pen to write down her guess. After everyone has a chance to guess, reveal the answer and award a prize to the player who guesses closest to the correct number.
