F-250 Battery Isolator Instructions

    • 1). Open the hood and disconnect the cable wire to the negative terminal on the battery.

    • 2). Drill 1/8-inch holes near the alternator, but at a distance from the exhaust alternator. Mount the isolator with the provided screws.

    • 3). Put the hardware on the stud in this order: hex nut, ring terminal, lock washer and hex nut. Be sure not to tighten them too much.

    • 4). Look on the back of the alternator for the "BAT" terminal. Detach all of the wires running to it. Connect the wires from the "BAT" terminal onto the "1" terminal on the isolator.

    • 5). Connect a wire to the "BAT" terminal on the auxiliary battery and the other end to the "A" terminal of the isolator.

    • 6). Install a circuit breaker near the alternator, but at a distance from the exhaust manifold. Install a new wire to the "2" terminal of the isolator and other end to the "AUX" on the circuit breaker. Install another wire to the "BAT" terminal and the other end of the wire to positive terminal on the auxiliary battery. If necessary, repeat this step for other battery isolators.
