- 1). Use a jack to lift the front wheels off the ground. Put jack stands underneath either the front cross-member or the frame then lower the jack until the frame makes contact with the stands and the weight of the vehicle is supported by them.
- 2). Remove the wheels with a tire iron. Take off the brake caliper mounted around the brake rotor with the ratchet. Slide mechanic's wire through the center of the brake caliper and hang it from the frame, making sure the rubber brake line is not kinked or twisted.
- 3). Slide the rotor off the wheel hub using both hands to support the weight of the heavy rotor.
