How to Install the Distributor in a 1995 Buick V8 & Instructions

    • 1). Open the hood of your Buick and remove the negative battery terminal using a socket wrench.

    • 2). Loosen the bolts on the alternator and remove the fan belts from the fan pulley with a slotted screwdriver.

    • 3). Remove the bolts from the fan, the fan clutch and the pulley with a socket wrench. Remove their respective components as well.

    • 4). Disconnect the hose from the inlet of the water pump. Disconnect the heater hose from the pump and remove the bolts securing the water pump to the vehicle. Remove the water pump.

    • 5). Disconnect all of the spark plug wires from the distributor. Remove the bolt and clamp from the distributor cap using a socket wrench. Remove the distributor from the engine compartment.

    • 6). Place the new distributor into the vehicle and reattach the bolt and clamp with a socket wrench. Reattach all eight spark plug wires and place the water pump back into the engine compartment.

    • 7). Reattach the fan, the fan clutch and the pulley. Tighten the alternator and reconnect the negative terminal to the battery. Close the hood.
