- 1). Wash and dry the soda caps thoroughly. If any of them are rusty, remove the rust with sandpaper or steel wool and wipe them clean.
- 2). Try on the belt and note the length of belt you want to cover in soda caps. Lightly mark the ends of the area for soda caps with a pencil. Take care to only mark, not dent the surface of the belt.
- 3). Put the belt on a flat surface. Evenly space the caps on the belt in the order you want them. Make sure to stay within the area you marked.
- 4). Start at one end of the belt and glue the soda caps on. Apply the adhesive to the edge of the cap that will touch the belt with extra glue along the inner walls of the cap. The glue will run down the sides and adhere to the belt. Press the cap firmly into place. Hold it there for a few seconds to make sure it sets with full contact to the belt.
- 5). Repeat with the remaining soda caps. Erase any remaining pencil marks and allow the belt to dry for at least an hour before wearing.
