- Lambs inspire several simple kids' craftslamb image by david purday from Fotolia.com
Baby animals appeal to most kids. Lambs are a popular choice in spring time. They are often associated with Easter. They are also linked to the month of March with the "in like a lion, out like a lamb" saying. These crafts work well both in the classroom, as a link to the curriculum, or at home, as a way to keep the kids entertained. - A child's handprint creates the body for this simple lamb craft. Paint the child's hand with black tempera paint and press onto a piece of paper. The thumb creates the head of the lamb so it should be spread out as far as possible. The four fingers create the legs of the lamb. Once the paint is dry, glue cotton balls onto the body area of the lamb leaving the thumb and fingers plain. The kids can add background details such as a barn or field to complete the picture.
- Craft pompoms are fluffy and come in a variety of sizes, making them ideal for a simple lamb craft. You'll need a large white pompom for the lamb's body, a medium sized white pompom for the head, two small white pompoms for ears and five small black pompoms. Four of the small black pompoms create the legs and the other is the muzzle. The kids glue together the pompoms to create the sheep. They can add wiggly eyes to complete the lamb's features.
- This craft creates a big, round, fluffy lamb craft. The paper plate creates the body of the lamb. You can use any size of paper plate. The head and legs are cut from black construction paper or craft foam. Glue the legs and head to the plate. Cover the entire plate with cotton balls to create the wool look. The kids can add facial details to complete the little lamp. Glue cotton balls to both sides of the plate if you want to hang the lambs from the ceiling.
- This project uses black craft foam to create the body of the lamb. Cut out simple body shapes for the lambs. The craft foam is then covered with white yarn. Look for a fluffy yarn for the craft. Start wrapping the yarn around the body of the lamb. Wrap it part of the way down the legs leaving some of the black craft showing at the bottom. You can add as much yarn as you want to create a fluffy lamb. A wiggly eye glued to the face completes the craft.
