- 1). Cut a 1-foot section of the fabric you've selected for the dress of the angel.
- 2). Fold and crease a 1/2-inch section of one side of the fabric using an iron. If you're using fabric with a pattern on only one side, make sure that you fold the fabric under so that the pattern side remains clean.
- 3). Adhere the seam using fabric glue or double-sided fabric tape to create a small pocket to run your coat hanger through. You can also use a sewing machine if you have one.
- 4). Push your coat hanger carefully through the fabric pocket.
- 5). Wrap the coat hanger around the top of the paper towel tube and twist the ends to secure it to the tube. Make sure that the bunched-up fabric is evenly distributed around the tube to create the look of a dress. Clip the excess hanger wire.
- 6). Take one piece of your excess coat hanger wire and wrap it securely two-thirds down the paper towel tube. Wrap it so that even amounts of wire stick out from both sides. Take a second piece of excess wire and wrap it the same way, but sticking out in the opposite direction to create an "X" with the first piece of wire. This will help create a cone shape to the dress, so that it doesn't drape straight down.
- 7). Paint the wood bead your desired skin color. Paint on the eyes, nose and mouth as well using acrylic paint. Take your yarn or doll's hair and glue it in place on the top of the bead for hair. Make sure the hair falls long enough to cover the twisted wire in the back.
- 8). Lay down a thin layer of hot glue on the top of the paper tube and the bottom of the wood bead. Attach the two pieces together, and hold until the glue sets.
- 9). Twist the pipe cleaner into a small circle and lay on top of the angel's head. Use a small bead of hot glue, if necessary, to hold the halo in place.
