How to Install Ubuntu From a Burned Installation CD

    • 1). Insert the burned installation CD containing the Ubuntu software into the CD/DVD drive and reboot the computer.

    • 2). Press any key, if prompted, to boot from the CD.

    • 3). Click the "Install Ubuntu" button when the main menu appears. The installation routing will start. The first step is partitioning the hard drive for the installation. If another operating system is present, you may elect to install Ubuntu as a dual-boot system, or if no other operating system is present, you may elect to partition the entire hard drive for Ubuntu.

    • 4). Click the radio button in front of the partitioning choice and click "Forward."

    • 5). Enter the city and state for the time zone information, and click "Forward."

    • 6). Type a user name and password for the installation. Confirm the password and click "Forward." Ubuntu will run through and complete the installation routine. When finished, a reboot prompt will appear.

    • 7). Click "Reboot the Computer" to restart using the newly installed Ubuntu operating system.
