How to Install Cintiq on an iMac

    Tablet (See reference one, page 19)

    • 1). Power down the iMac. Connect Apple’s MiniDisplay Port to DV-I adapter to the second port to the right on the rear of the computer.

    • 2). Connect the Cintiq DV-I connector to the Cintiq DVI-D to DVI-I adaptor. Connect the DVI-D to DVI-I adaptor to the MiniDisplay Port connected to the iMac.

    • 3). Connect the Cintiq DC-input cord to the power adaptor. Connect the power cable to the power adaptor and plug it in.

    • 4). Turn on the Cintiq tablet and turn on the iMac. Open the iMac’s Control Panel folder and click “Advanced Settings.”

    • 5). Click on the “Monitor” tab, then “Properties.” Click the “Driver” tab, then “Update Driver.”

    • 6). Insert the installation disc and close the Wacom Tablet installation menu if it pops up. Configure the size and color resolution settings to suit your tablet’s application or use.

    Pen (See reference one, page 38)

    • 1). Connect the USB cable from the tablet to the iMac and disable your virus software. Insert the pen installation disc. Double-click the “Install” icon if the installation doesn’t load automatically.

    • 2). Click “Install Tablet” and click next. Follow the installation prompts and click “Finish.”

    • 3). Restart your antivirus software. Make sure the on-screen cursor on the Cintiq tablet moves in tandem with the pen. Lift the pen and place it at a different spot on the tablet, making sure the cursor appears underneath the pen each time.

    Calibration (See reference one, page 38)

    • 1). Open the Wacom Tablet control panel and select “Grip Pen.”

    • 2). Select “Calibrate” and click “Calibrate” to bring up the calibration interface.

    • 3). Grip the pen and look at the tablet in the same manner in which you will draw on it. The tablet calibrates the screen-pen interaction according to your position.

    • 4). Click the crosshairs in the upper-left corner of the screen with the pen. Click the crosshairs in lower-right corner of the screen.

    • 5). Place the pen on several points on the screen to make sure it aligns properly with the tablet cursor. Glide the pen over the tablet to make sure the cursor follows the tip of the pen. Click “OK.”
