How to Disable the Built-In Webcam on an HP Laptop Running Windows Vista

    • 1). Click the Windows Vista "Start" button and then click "Control Panel."

    • 2). Click the "System and Maintenance" option.

    • 3). Click the "Device Manager" option. The Device Manager dialog box opens.

    • 4). Click the option labeled "Imaging Devices."

    • 5). Right-click the webcam entry, and then click "Disable."

    • 6). Click "OK." The built-in webcam is disabled on the HP laptop that is running Vista.
