- 1). Blot the stain with perchloroethylene-based dry-cleaning solvent, using a non-dyed cloth, until the ink ceases to bleed. Use the amount of dry-cleaning solvent recommended on the product's label. Carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions.
- 2). Rinse out the dry-cleaning solvent with cool water.
- 3). Examine the fabric for remaining ink. If the black stain persists, treat it with 1 tsp. of heavy-duty liquid laundry detergent. Rub the laundry detergent into the ink-stained fabric.
- 4). Allow the laundry detergent to permeate the ink stain overnight.
- 5). Rinse out the laundry detergent with cool water.
- 6). Launder the material in a washing machine with all-fabric bleach. Follow the manufacturer's specific directions on the bleach bottle and the material's care tag.
- 7). Let the material air-dry entirely.
- 1). Apply perchloroethylene-based dry-cleaning solvent to a non-dyed cloth. Use the amount of solvent recommended by the product manufacturer. Blot the ink stain with the cloth until the solvent is fully absorbed in the carpet fibers.
- 2). Dampen a second non-dyed cloth with cool water. Dab the carpet with the cloth to rinse out the dry-cleaning solvent.
- 3). Inspect the carpet for remaining traces of ink. If the black stain persists, mix 2 cups of lukewarm water, 1 tbsp. translucent liquid dishwashing soap and 1 tbsp. of white vinegar in a clean bowl.
- 4). Saturate a third non-dyed cloth in the solution. Blot the carpet with the cloth until the ink stain is completely dissolved.
- 5). Moisten a fourth non-dyed cloth with cool water. Dab the carpet with the cloth to rinse out the solution.
- 6). Blot the carpet with a terry cloth towel until all moisture is absorbed from the carpet.
