- 1). Slide the drain pan under the radiator drain plug. Loosen the drain plug, using the appropriate socket or wrench -- sometimes it is easier to fit a wrench on the plug, rather than a socket -- and allow the coolant to drain. Dispose of the coolant in an acceptable manner, unless the coolant is clean and relatively new, in which case you can reuse it.
- 2). Remove the air duct from the air cleaner assembly, using a screwdriver. Loosen the clamp on the coolant overflow bottle hose and the upper and lower radiator hoses, using a screwdriver. Pull the hoses off the radiator.
- 3). Disconnect the electrical fan motor's wiring harness connector. Remove the overflow tank, using the appropriate socket. Remove the bolts holding the upper cross-member, using the appropriate sockets. Remove the upper cross-member.
- 4). Remove the air cleaner assembly, using the appropriate socket. Remove the air conditioning condenser mounting fasteners, using wire cutters. Pull the condenser away from the radiator and make sure it is supported so that it doesn't fall.
- 5). Slide the second drain pan under the transmission cooler lines. Remove the lines, using the appropriate line wrench, then block the ends with rags so transmission fluid doesn't continue to leak out of the lines.
- 6). Remove the air conditioning drier's mounting bracket, using the appropriate socket. Remove the bracket without disturbing the drier or removing the drier's lines. Remove the two mounting bolts on the cooling fan. Lift the radiator out of the engine compartment.
