- 1). Lift the hood of the Nissan and disconnect the grounding cable from the negative battery terminal with the 10 mm wrench. Lay the grounding cable away from the battery.
- 2). Pull the ashtray from the dashboard just below the storage pocket under the factory radio. Remove the two screws in the back of the ashtray compartment with a Philips-head screwdriver.
- 3). Grab the dash trim panel at the bottom edge and pull it away from the dashboard. Set the trim panel aside for later installation.
- 4). Remove the four screws (two on each side) from the stereo mounting bracket with a Philips-head screwdriver. Pull the stereo, and the storage pocket beneath it, away from the dashboard.
- 5). Pull the antenna cable from the upper right hand corner of the back of the factory stereo. Pull the two white plastic binders from the back of the factory stereo.
- 6). Insert the faceplate adapter into the opening provided by the removed factory stereo. Pull the speaker wiring through to the front of the faceplate adapter.
- 7). Connect the speaker wiring to the wiring harness adapter. Connect the wiring harness adapter leads to the aftermarket stereo.
- 8). Slide the aftermarket stereo into the faceplate adapter.
- 9). Replace the dash trim that surrounds the stereo. Press firmly onto the perimeter of the trim panel to snap the back into place.

Replace the two screws in the ashtray opening with a Philips-head screwdriver. Replace the ashtray into the compartment. - 11
Reconnect the grounding cable to the negative battery lead and tighten the clamp of the cable to the lead with the 10 mm wrench.
