How to Reset the Saab Check Engine Light

    • 1). Find the OBD port on the driver's side foot-well just to the left of the main fuse panel and underneath the steering column. Check to make sure the port is the same size and same shape as the connector on the OBD scan tool. Then you will know that you have found the right port.

    • 2). Plug the scan tool into the port. Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the "on" position, but make sure the engine doesn't turn over. This will power on the OBD scan tool.

    • 3). Wait a minute for the OBD scan tool to read the codes, then press "OK" and "Clear" to clear the codes from the vehicle's computer. Turn the vehicle off and wait another minute.

    • 4). Turn on the engine and examine the instrument panel to make sure the check engine light has shut off. Turn the vehicle off and unplug the scan tool.
