The 2004 Toyota Tacoma TRD is an off-road 4x4 pickup truck. Toyota introduced The Tacoma TRD as an upgrade to the standard Tacoma. The Toyota racing development package can be added to 2WD PreRunner or 4WD Xtracab models. The TRD package adds Bilstein shocks, a locking rear differential, increased-rate front and rear springs, a larger stabilizer bar, P265/70R16 B.F.Goodrich tires, overfenders and special graphics. - The 2004 Toyota Tacoma TRD was equipped with a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine or a 3.0 liter V-6. The 2.4-liter engine produced 142 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 160 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm. The 3.0-liter V-6 produced 210 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 220 foot-pounds of torque at 4,400 rpm. Manual and automatic transmissions were available on the four-cylinder models.
- This model has two doors and measures 184.40 inches long by 66.50 inches wide by 67.70 inches high, with a wheelbase of 104.30 inches and curb weight of 3,290 lbs. for manual and 3,320 lbs. for automatic.
- The 2004 Tacoma features two front seats, equipped with cup holders. The four-speaker sound system includes an AM/FM radio and a CD player. Other amenities include cruise control, tilt steering and front heated and cooled seats.
