The Yamaha Vmax is a powerful snowmobile that can provide riders with comfort as well as speed. The Yamaha Vmax has standard hand and thumb warmers to ensure the rider is always able to manipulate the controls as needed. Mirrors are standard as well and provide extra safety to the ride. The Yamaha Vmax snowmobile is designed to carry one rider at a time, although it is possible to add a second seat by installing the two-up seat kit from Yamaha. - The engine of the Yamaha Vmax is a 593 cc, two-stroke with three cylinders. The engine is kept cool with a liquid cooling system. The Yamaha Vmax engine is started with a digital electric ignition system. The transmission of this snowmobile is a manual clutch transmission. Fuel is provided to the engine through a Mikuni TM 31x3 carburetor. The exhaust created by the engine leaves through a single tail pipe at the rear of the sled body.
- The Yamaha Vmax has a front suspension system that is independent of the rest of the snowmobile. The front shocks allow for 9 inches of travel to absorb bumps and jolts for the rider. The hydraulic front shocks help to prevent the driver from losing control of the front ski runners. The rear shocks are also hydraulic with a gas cell. The rear shocks on the Yamaha Vmax allow for 11.5 inches of travel. This means the seat of the sled will move up and down when moving over rough terrain, but the runners will stay in more consistent contact with the ground. A stabilizer bar to help prevent the Yamaha Vmax snowmobile from tipping over is standard.
- The Yamaha Vmax measures approximately 109 inches from the center of the front end of the snowmobile to the center of the back end. The snowmobile is 47 inches wide at its widest points. From the ground to the tallest point of the Yamaha Vmax is 48 inches. The tracks of the snowmobile are 15 inches wide by 121 inches long and one inch thick. The Yamaha Vmax is able to hold up to 12 gallons of fuel when full.
