- The Honda CR500AF is a formidable modern two-stroke motorcycle that has stood up to testing no less rigorous than being launched over 300 feet, setting a world motorcycle distance jump record in December 2007 by Robbie Maddison. Honda's bike is available in red, and styled aggressively with anodized black rims and rear sprocket, slim bodywork and a large cylinder.
- The 500AF snorts and grunts with a liquid-cooled, two-stroke, single cylinder engine that displaces 30.51 cubic inches of regular unleaded gasoline. The engine has a bore of 3.50 inches, a stroke of 3.11 inches and a compression ratio of 6.8-to-1.
- Recovering a bike from a 200-foot launch means the fitted suspension configuration is no slouch. The front of the bike bounces on a 1.86 inch inverted Showa cartridge fork with 16-position compression damping and 16-position rebound adjustability, with a maximum travel of 12.4 inches. The rear suspension features a Pro-Link Showa single shock with a spring reload function. Rebound damping is adjustable to 17 positions, and compression damping is separated into high speed (3.5 turns) and low speed (13 positions), with a maximum travel again of 12.4 inches. The bike is fitted with front and rear 9.44 inch disc brakes, with a twin-piston caliper situated at the front. The front wheel wears an 80/100-21 tire, and the rear a 100/90-19.
- The Honda CR500AF measures in with a wheelbase of 58.3 inches, a seat height of 38 inches, a 13-inch ground clearance, a dry weight of 213.8 lb and a maximum fuel capacity of two gallons.
