- 1). Open the fuse panel on your F-150 by pulling down on the fuse cover located under the steering column in the driver's side foot well.
- 2). Locate the fuse for the electronic control unit, or ECU, by using the fuse diagram on the underside of the fuse cover.
- 3). Pull the fuse for the ECU using the fuse puller mounted in the fuse panel.
- 4). Turn the ignition on but don't crank the engine.
- 5). Wait 15 minutes and then reinsert the fuse into the fuse panel. The check engine light will reset itself by flashing several times and then shutting off.
