Michigan is known for many things. In addition to being the home of the automobile, Michigan has some of the most pristine woodland in the United States. Because of this, as well as the bountiful hunting and fishing in many parts of the state, Michigan has become quite a tourist spot for those looking to spend a weekend in the woods or at other campsites. There are a number of tent camping areas in Michigan that offer a variety of camping experiences. - Open from mid-April to mid-October, the Kampgrounds of America campgrounds at St. Joseph, Michigan, offers a wide range of amenities. In addition to a swimming pool that is open from late May to early September, the KOA St. Joseph campgrounds include electrical outlets at each campsite, free firewood, bicycle rentals and complimentary wireless Internet. The St. Joseph KOA campsite is located just miles away from many Lake Michigan beaches in Riverside, Michigan.
