Simple Do It Yourself Termite Control Systems

Pre-treatment systems To begin with it is advisable to avoid termites at all costs.
Initially when you are building structures or homes, you can avoid termites by pre-treating the timber at the time of construction or even before.
Wood that is exposed and prone to attracting termites is treated with chemicals which will last for a long time.
This is a very effective way to control termites from getting into your compound.
A second way is where pre-treatment termite proof is put under concrete slabs.
The chemical is put before the slab is poured over it.
This is done when construction is taking place.
It is very effective and may keep termites away fro as long as the building stands.
Use of Termiticides When the building is already constructed, you can use the help of professionals who are able to predict the areas that are most vulnerable to termites and treat it.
Then holes can be drilled in the basement and termiticides injected into the soil at regular intervals.
Also termiticides can be applied along the foundation walls, pipes, piers et cetera.
This can be done by trenching in order to threat the soil around these areas.
The termiticides are usually mixed with the soil from the areas in which it is going to be applied before it is replaced back.
Use of Baits Another option is the baiting systems which is less intrusive.
It has the advantage of detecting termites before they reach you compound.
The bait system allows the maximum wood and soil contact due to the large vertical slots that allow opportunity of termites to attack.
It contains a termite inspection cartridge of enticing puri-cell cellulose matrix that is appetizing for termites and when they are found in the compound, the cartridge is replaced with termite baits that kills and wipes out the entire termite colony.
That is the bait system first detects termites and then when they are found they are killed using baits.
Make Your Own Traps You can also make your own traps to detect the termites in your compound.
Cardboards that are wet can be used to act as traps.
Several cardboards are put together to trap termites.
Termites are attracted to the cellulose and will get trapped in the cardboard as they eat it.
Wait for a few days and check whether there are any positive signs of termite infestation.
If positive, burn the cardboards and then use other methods to kill the termites.
