How to Get Rid of Frogs by Changing the Environment in Your House

Generally, frogs are harmless and feed on insects in a house or other places.
But too many frogs in a house can be annoying for residents.
This post talks about how you can change your home environment to get rid of frogs.
First off, you should drain standing water.
Moisture tends to attract frogs; so, removing sources of moisture is a good idea to keep frogs away.
For removing water, you can rent a common pump to dry out water from sources, such as birdbaths, ponds and so on.
Trim the weeds.
Common hiding places for frogs include tall shrubs, bushy plants and grass.
Tall plants in the surrounding areas of a water source provide perfect home for frogs.
Clearing away these factors can push the frogs to go away from your house.
Clean up debris ASAP.
Like tall bushes and grass, accumulation of debris in a yard provides a perfect environment for frogs.
So, remove the debris to get rid of frogs.
In addition, consider removing old lumber, empty pots and wood chips piles as they offer good hiding places for frogs.
Switch off lights outsides your house.
Lights tend to attract bugs and bugs attract frogs.
Switching off lights, especially ones in the porch and garden will not attract any bugs.
Similarly, you should drop drapes in your house for reducing the amount of light coming inside from outside.
As a result, frog population will reduce in your house.
Do not put pet food outside your house.
Often, frogs steal cat food or dog food.
So, it is better if you feed your pet inside your house.
Kill off the insects.
Primary food sources for frogs include mosquitoes, flies and other bugs.
And killing these bugs will keep frogs from getting into your house or yard.
Set up fences around your house.
You can use plastic or mesh netting to surround your pond or house.
Using chain-link or chicken wire is not a good idea because frogs find it easier to slip through such kinds of fences.
You need to make certain the fences start at the floor level and stand tall.
As you know frogs are able to leap a low heights; therefore, installing a standard fence is better than a low one.
Finally, you should take precautions in order to keep the fences in place.
The supporting posts should be at least one foot inside the ground.
In the same way, a part of the fence material should be buried under the ground.
