Lay the stained portion of the comforter across a flat work surface. Use a spoon to scrape off any chocolate substance to prevent it from spreading further into your white comforter. Wipe the chocolate off on a paper towel and continue until you've removed all the chocolate substance. - 2). Spray the chocolate stain with an aerosol petroleum-based prewash stain remover. The petroleum in the prewash helps break down the greasy portion of the chocolate stain. Leave the prewash on the comforter for three to five minutes.
- 3). Wash the white comforter with heavy-duty laundry detergent and oxygen bleach to remove the rest of the chocolate stain. Add 1 cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle to remove any remaining grease or smell from the chocolate stain.

Check the comforter before drying. If any chocolate stain remains, sponge the stain with dry cleaning solvent to lift the color transfer. Wash the comforter again and dry it according to the care label directions.
