How to Reprogram Windows Vista on a Presario Compaq

    • 1). Close all open browser windows.

    • 2). Click "Start" on the desktop.

    • 3). Choose "All Programs" and "Accessories."

    • 4). Select "System Restore" from the Accessories drop-down menu.

    • 5). Give your password if you are prompted to do so.

    • 6). Select a "restore point." This will take the Windows Vista operating system back to the date suggested. If you do not want the suggested date, you have the option of choosing another.

    • 7). Wait. Once you have selected a restore point, your Compaq Presario will begin restoring Windows Vista. This will take a few minutes. When it is finished, it will restart your computer. Do not press any keys or turn the computer on or off, or try to cancel the restore.

    • 8). Log back on to your computer once it restarts.
