- 1). Lay the fabric on a table, right side face up.
- 2). Unfold the bias tape and lay it on top of the fabric so that the edge of the bias tape and the edge of the fabric meet.
- 3). Pin the bias tape to the fabric, placing the pins on the first fold line on the right side of the tape. Place the last pin on that side of the fabric about ½ centimeter in from the end. Turn the bias tape to the left, at the corner, pushing the bias tape slightly to the right so that it does not lie flat against the corner of the fabric. Place the next pin to the left of the corner, leaving the corner unpinned. Place another pin next to it, on the first fold line.
- 4). Sew the bias tape to the fabric, stopping ½ centimeter from the end of the fabric. Turn the fabric so the side you just finished sewing is vertical. Continue to stitch, working your way from the corner to the left. Follow the pins placed on the fold.
- 5). After sewing the bias tape to the fabric, remove all the pins, turn the fabric over and fold the bias tape so that the remaining folded edge just covers the stitching. Pin the bias tape to the fabric, creating a diagonal overlap of bias tape at the corner of the fabric so the bias tape lies flat. Pin in place.
- 6). Slip stitch the bias tape to the wrong side of the fabric. Concentrate on maintaining the shape of the corner of the fabric.
