- 1). Remove the screws securing the motor cover, with the screwdriver. Locate the wire connection from the main drive motor to the e-board -- or electronic control board.
- 2). Pull the connector out of the e-board, to disconnect the main drive motor. Remove the mounting screws used to secure the motor.
- 3). Place your new brushless motor into the machine. Make sure the wiring harness is facing toward the rear. Verify that the gear mesh is set in the correct orientation.
- 4). Press on the motor to position it under the main gear, and tighten the mounting screws. Turn the gear to make sure it can rotate freely.
- 5). Place a strip of double-sided tape on the back of the electronic speed control unit -- known as the ESC. Position the ESC on the e-board, and press to adhere the tape.
- 6). Plug the connector at the end of the ESC into the “ESC” port on the e-board. Position the power lead for the ESC out the underside of the helicopter.
- 7). Attach the lead for the flight battery to the ESC. Power on the transmitter or remote control, and set the throttle to the lowest setting. Increase the throttle to make sure the blades rotate in a forward direction.
