- 1). Use your screwdriver to remove all hardware from the cabinet, including knobs and hinges.
- 2). Dull the cabinet surfaces with a vibrating pad sander to remove any gloss and get it flat and dull. Wipe up the dust.
- 3). Measure the dimensions of the first span of the cabinet. Transfer the measurements to a piece of veneer laminate with a pencil and square. Add one inch around the perimeter of the measurement all around.
- 4). Cut out the piece at the marked areas using your utility knife.
- 5). Peel off the wax paper from the back of the cut piece. Immediately press the piece to the surface laminate, to overhang by an inch on all sides.
- 6). Roll the laminate roller over the surface to get it fully set.
- 7). Run your utility knife along all the edges of the cabinet, to trim off the one-inch overhanging veneer.
- 8). Repeat the process for each span of the cabinet. Put the cabinet back together.
