How to Get Purple Color

    • 1). Obtain red and blue primary colors. Both the red and blue should have a bias towards purple for a vibrant purple color. The red can include alizarin or crimson and while the blue can include an ultramarine. Neither the red nor the blue primary color should have too much yellow in it for a good rich purple.

    • 2). Mix equal amounts of the colors together to obtain a rich purple color.

    • 3). Add in other colors, such as yellow or white, to dull the purple or obtain a lighter or duller shade of purple. Alternately, start mixing your purple with a more greenish-blue or a more brownish-red to obtain an alternate purple hue.
