- Your S3592 is equipped with a powered floor cleaning head. This is attached to the extension wands, which are attached to the handle of the suction hose. The cleaning head is powered by wires inside the hose. It is turned on and off using the switch on the hose handle.
The floor cleaning head includes a brush roll which loosens dirt on carpets and rugs. The pedal on the left side of the floor attachment activates the brush roll. You press the pedal until the indicator adjoining it is clearly in the "rug" position.
You turn the brush roll off, before the cleaning head goes on hard floors, by pressing the pedal until the indicator moves into the "floor" position. - The S3592 is equipped with a crevice nozzle, located under the tool lid on the top of the canister. When placed on the extension wand, it removes dust and dirt from carpet and rug edges, and the point at which any type of flooring meets the baseboards.
The crevice nozzle is narrow, making it a suitable attachment with which to remove dust from the top edge of baseboards. If your baseboards have carved grooves, replace the crevice nozzle with the swivel headed dusting brush. The brush loosens dust and grime in the grooves, which is then sucked into the vacuum. - The small upholstery nozzle is to vacuum soft furnishings, stair treads and stair risers. You clean narrow gaps in upholstery and stair edges using the crevice nozzle. The swivel-headed dusting brush cleans any wooden areas which form part of the staircase. The upholstery nozzle is also to vacuum curtains, for which you turn the S3592's suction down.
The S3592 has a convenient tool caddy, which holds both the dusting brush and upholstery nozzle. The caddy is attached to the extension wand. - You place the swivel-headed dusting brush on the hose handle to remove dust from hard furniture surfaces such as cabinets, shelving and tables. It also cleans lampshades, entertainment units and blinds. When placed on the extension wand, it removes dust and cobwebs from the ceiling/wall join, light fittings and curtain poles.
- Change the filter dust bag on your S3592 as soon as the bag full indicator turns red. A congested bag will reduce the vacuum's overall performance. You access the bag by lifting the bag compartment lid on top of the canister. The filter bag frame lifts out of the canister, the bag is unclamped, and a fresh bag clamped into position. The frame then goes back inside the canister.
The S3592's secondary filter is also located in the bag compartment. If this shows signs of becoming clogged, it will reduce the cleaner's efficiency, and you must wash it in warm water. The filter must be completely dry before you place it back inside the vacuum. The final filter is located behind the filter door at the rear of the vacuum. This must also be washed in warm water when it becomes dirty. Once again, you must dry the filter completely before returning it to the vacuum.
