How to Store Lids

    Cabinet Shelf

    • 1). Go through all of your plastic kitchen containers and lids. Throw away or recycle any lids that do not have a container.

    • 2). Place a small wire cabinet shelf in the cabinet. Make sure to place the shelf in an area that is easily accessible, but doesn't block access to the back of the cabinet.

    • 3). Stack the lids on the top of the cabinet shelf and place the containers underneath. Or, place each stack of lids into its own container, then place the container on top of the shelf.

    Mix and Match

    • 1). Throw away or recycle any lids that do not have a matching container.

    • 2). Place all of the lids into a large container or bowl that you do not use for cooking or cleaning. Although mixed, the lids will remain contained in one place.

    • 3). Set the large container or bowl near the front of the cabinet and out of the way of the containers or other items. Anytime you need a lid, simply remove the bowl and take one out.

    Attach the Lids

    • 1). Go through all of your plastic kitchen containers and lids and dispose of or recycle lids that do not have a container.

    • 2). Attach each lid onto the proper container.

    • 3). Stack the lidded containers in the cabinet, separating them by type, size or shape.
