- 1). Put on a pair of rubber gloves to protect your hands from any sharp edges of the Italian spiral glass dip pen. Hold the broken pieces under running water to remove any existing particles and then let the parts dry on a towel.
- 2). Hold the broken pen parts together to see where the spiral runs along the glass. This preparation ensures that you glue the pen along the spiral and do not accidentally interrupt the movement.
- 3). Squeeze the two parts of the epoxy glue on a paper plate and mix the solutions together with a wooden craft stick. The amount of glue only needs to be about the size of a dime.
- 4). Gather some of the glue on the end of the stick and gently rub it over one of the broken ends of the pen. Try not to let the glue run over the side of the pen, but if it does, rub the excess off with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
- 5). Position the two parts of the pen together so that it follows the spiral pattern you identified in the earlier step. Hold the parts together as long as the epoxy glue instructions specify and then place your pen in a pen holder or other container that allows the piece to dry (cure) in an upright position.
