- 1). Wash a green or white pumpkin with hot soapy water and dry thoroughly. Turn the pumpkin so you are looking at the side you want to become the pirate's face.
- 2). Draw a 2-inch wide triangle in the center of the pumpkin using a black paint pen and fill in the triangle with the black paint. Paint a 1-inch diameter round circle above and over to one side of the triangle with a black paint pen and shade it in with black. Outline the black circle with a red paint pen.
- 3). Draw a 3-inch wide triangle with rounded corners on a sheet of black foam paper. Cut the shape out and hot-glue the triangle on the opposite side of the triangle in the place where the other eye should go.
- 4). Paint two black squares, approximately 1-inch wide, beneath the triangle in the center. Draw a grin in red along the top of the black squares.
- 5). Add a 2-inch diameter gold circle to the right and left sides of the face using a gold paint pen, in the places where the ears are located. Paint a skull and cross bones on the cheek of the pirate using the gold paint pen.
- 6). Lay a red bandanna out flat and take one corner and fold it over to the opposite corner. Pick up the folded triangular shaped bandanna and position the folded side across the top of the pumpkin just above the eye and patch of the pirate; the end opposite of the fold will go across the top of the pumpkin. Take each end on the right and left side of the bandanna and tie them into a knot in the back of the pumpkin.
- 7). Dab a dot of hot-glue underneath the front fold, beneath the knot and under the top of the bandanna and stick it to the pumpkin.
- 8). Hot-glue a small toy parrot to the side of the pumpkin stem.
