How to Make Text-to-Speech Work With a TomTom Navigator

    • 1). Hold down the "Power" button until the TomTom Navigator GPS boots up.

    • 2). Touch or tap the screen with your finger to bring up the Main Menu.

    • 3). Tap "Change Preferences" from the Main Menu.

    • 4). Press "Voice Preferences" from the "Change Preferences Menu."

    • 5). Select "Change Voice" from the "Voice Preferences Menu."

    • 6). Tap the left and/or right arrows to view your selection of available voices. Tap any voice that ends in "Computer," such as "Male Computer," to highlight that option. The voices that end in "Computer" have text-to-speech ability. Tap the "Select" button to select the voice.

    • 7). Locate the option that states "Read Aloud Street Names." Ensure the box next to this option is checked. If it is not, tap the box until it becomes checked. Press "Done" on the following three screens to enable text-to-speech.
