- 1). Insert the smaller end of the included USB cable into the Nextar device, and insert the cable end into an available USB port on the computer.
- 2). Click the "Start" menu button in the bottom-left corner of the screen, and click on "Computer" in the right-hand pane of the menu to display its contents. Double-click the "Nextar" device that appears in the "Computer" window to open it.
- 3). Click and hold the music files and folders you want to add to the Nextar device. Drag and drop them inside the "Nextar" window to copy them to the device.
- 4). Double-click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the bottom right-hand corner of your screen and click "Eject USB Mass Storage Device." Press "OK" in the window that appears, and remove the USB cable from the computer and Nextar device.
- 5). Insert the included earphones into the jack on the bottom of the device. Play each song with the center triangular "Play" button on the device, and cycle through the songs with the "Previous" and "Next" buttons, located to the left and right of the "Play" button. Press and hold down the "Next" button to fast-forward through a song, and press and hold the "Previous" button to rewind a song.
- 1). Press the "Menu" button, located to the left of the "Play" button on the bottom of the device, to access the menu options of the Nextar device.
- 2). Press either the "Previous" or "Next" button to highlight "FM mode," and press the "Menu" button again to listen to the radio.
- 3). Press the "Next" button to increase the frequency manually by 0.1 MHz or press the "Previous" button to decrease it by 0.1 MHz to find your station. For example, if you have the Nextar device set at 95.1 FM and the station you want tunes at 95.5 FM, press the "Next" button four times to tune in that station.
- 4). Press the "REC/A-B" button, located on the long edge of the device directly below the "Play" button, down for two seconds to enter the "FM recording mode." This will record what the FM station broadcasts in Waveform Audio File Format, or .WAV. Press the "Play" button to stop the recording. Press the "REC/A-B" button again to save the file under "Voice mode."
- 1). Press the "A-B/REC" button down for two seconds to enter the device's recording mode. Speak into the device microphone, located on the short edge of the device to the right of the "Play" button. Press the "A-B/REC" button again to stop recording your voice.
- 2). Press the "Menu" button, and press either the "Previous" or "Next" button to highlight "Voice." Press the "Menu" button again to enter "Voice" mode. The "Voice" mode contains all recordings you make to the device, including recordings made from FM radio.
- 3). Press the "Play" button to play back your voice recordings, and press it again to pause. Cycle through your voice tracks with the "Previous" and "Next" buttons. Press and hold the "Next" button to fast-forward through a voice recording, and press and hold the "Previous" button to rewind.
