- 1). Connect one RG6 cable to the satellite dish LNB, which is the arm that sticks out of the satellite. Underneath the LNB is a barrel connector that the RG6 cable will connect to. The other end of that cable connects to a DirecTV multi-switch, a device that splits the satellite signal so each receiver gets its own feed. Plug the RG6 cable into the "Input" barrel connector on the back of the multi-switch.
- 2). Run a RG6 cable out of one of the "Output" connectors on the multi-switch to your satellite receiver. The multi-switch can have multiple "Output" connectors.
- 3). Plug each RG6 cable into the "Satellite In" connector located on the back of your satellite receiver.
- 4). Send the signal from your receiver to your television through another RG6 cable. Connect one end of the cable to the "Television Out" connector on the back of your receiver, then connect the other end to your "Television In" input on the back of your television. You can also accomplish this with an HDMI cable if your receiver and television supports it.
