- 1). Eject the media tray on a Windows computer to load a blank DVD and close the tray, or slide a blank DVD into the slot on a Mac, which will pull in the disc automatically.
- 2). Launch the DVD burner software if it does not open automatically when a disc is inserted. To locate iDVD on a Mac, click the "Finder" button and choose "Applications," then click once on "iDVD" to start the program. In Windows, click the flag or "Start" button in the lower left corner to choose "All Programs" and double-click "Windows DVD Maker."
- 3). Click the "Import" button to open a folder of digital videos on a Mac computer, or click "Add Files" to open the video file folder on a Windows computer.
- 4). Click on a digital video file on the Mac to highlight its name, then click the "Import" button to pull the video into a list of files for burning to DVD. Click a video file in DVD Maker then click "Add File" to transfer it to the burn list. The space left of on the disc is displayed on both software programs as a "Time Remaining" message. Additional videos can be added to the burn list based on the available time left on the disc.
- 5). Click the "Next" button to advance to the menu customization screen for either software package. Select menu options and various layout features by clicking each with the left mouse button.
- 6). Click the black and yellow "Burn" button in iDVD to start copying the digital videos to disc. Click the "Burn" button in the lower right corner of DVD Maker to create the disc.
