- Measure the area of the floor that you want the semicircle to lay in, then determine how much of the laminate flooring you will need to cover the entire area. Once you've measured everything carefully, measure it a second time. Making sure that the measurements are correct will be critical later in the process.
- Using the laminate flooring, build a rectangular area that is big enough to encapsulate your semicircle, with the base of the semicircle being the long length of your rectangle. You'll want to have approximately 1/2 inch of extra flooring on the other three sides.
- The next thing you'll need is a protractor to scribe out your semicircle. Measure half of the base of the semicircle; that's where you anchor your protractor. Remember those measurements from Section 1? Here's where they come into play. Measure how how tall your semicircle needs to be, then make a small mark. The marking end of the protractor needs to reach to that marked point, and you'll be able to easily draw the rest of your semicircle.
- Once you've drawn out the semicircle, all you need to do now is cut it out. Use a jigsaw or a circular saw to cut a fine line on the mark you drew to bring your semicircle out of the rectangle. If you're a novice, that extra you allowed yourself in Section 2 will give you the opportunity for a bit of an "oops" cut. Once your finished product is cut out, all that's left to do is follow the manufacturer's directions for installation of your floors.
