- Make cute ribbon hairbows (such as cheerleaders wear) out of a spool of polyester ribbon. To curl the ribbons, wrap polyester ribbon tightly around a small wooden dowel, and heat in an oven at 275 degrees for 15 minutes, according to the Bear Cottage. When heating, place the ribbons in the center of the oven, wrapped loosely in aluminum foil. Watch the ribbon, to prevent overheating. Remove the ribbon from the oven, allow to cool and remove the ribbon from the wooden dowel. Knot several lengths of the curled ribbons together in the center of each length to create a hairbow. Glue together with hot glue and attach to a hair barrette.
- Put together a decorative ribbon mobile to hang over your girl’s bed or near a window, following instructions on the Prudent Baby website. Cut eight different lengths of twine, each 1 inch shorter than the last, starting with 15 inches. Tie simple bows into eight differently colored pieces of ribbons. Attach each bow to the end of a length of twine using a hot glue gun or by tying the twine into the bow's knot. Attach the other end of each piece of twine to a circular stretcher frame (available at art supply stores) by tying the twine around the frame. Hang around the girl's bedroom.

Create quick, simple ribbon flowers to use as decoration, in corsages or as a boutonniere to give to a date, based on instructions from Alison at How Does She?. Fold an 18-inch piece of white ribbon into an accordion, so that you have three loops at the top of the ribbon. Pinch and hold, to keep the accordion from unfurling. Fold a loop at the end of a 12-inch piece of a green ribbon. Pinch the loop of the green ribbon against the loops of the white ribbon. Pull the excess green ribbon under the bottom of the white ribbon and create a loop on the other side. Staple the bottom of the ribbon together to attach everything. - Create homemade necklaces using ribbon and a locket. To do this, begin by measuring the length of the necklace you want; include the whole length from the back of the neck to the center of the breast plate. Slide the ribbon through the loop at the top of the locket. When the locket reaches the center of your length of ribbon, twist the ribbon at that point and pull an end of the ribbon through the loop at the top of the locket, holding the locket in place on the ribbon. Use an iron on low heat to remove any wrinkles from the ribbon. To wear the locket, tie the ribbon at the back of the neck.
