- 1). Check the outside of the storm window to ensure it is not painted shut. Score along the storm window around the window frame with a utility knife to free the window so it will open, if necessary. Skip this step if your storm windows have not been painted.
- 2). Open the window from the inside of the home to access the storm window you wish to remove.
- 3). Reach through the window opening from the inside and push in on the spring-loaded release tabs on the top of the storm window's bottom panel. Raise the panel up until the bottom of the panel clears the storm window frame.
- 4). Tilt the bottom of the storm window panel toward you, then slide the top of the panel downward at an angle. Remove the panel from the storm window track, and maneuver it through the window opening.
- 5). Push in on the release tabs on the bottom edge of the storm window's upper panel. Let the panel slide down the track, and remove it from the storm window frame in the same manner as the bottom panel.

- 2). Open the window from the inside of the home to access the storm window you wish to remove.
- 3). Push in on the spring-loaded release tabs and slide the storm window panel until the side of the panel clears the storm window frame.
- 4). Tilt one the inward edge of the storm window panel inward toward you, then slide the other end away from the frame at an angle. Remove the panel from the storm window frame and maneuver it through the window opening.
- 5). Push in on the release tabs on the remaining storm window panel, and slide it toward the window opening. Remove the panel from the storm window frame in the same fashion.
