- The Honda Pilot is available in several trim packages, including the "LX," "EX," "EX-L" and "Touring." These models come in either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. All models are equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission, and are powered by a V-6 engine.
- The two-wheel drive models get an estimated 17 mpg in city driving, and 23 mpg on the highway; this results in a combined average of 19 mpg, according to Honda. The gas mileage for the Pilot's four-wheel drive models is slightly less,. Those particular models average 16 mpg in the city, 22 on the highway and 18 mpg combined.
- Gas mileage estimates apply to 2008 models and later. "Edmunds.com" reports that the method for measuring fuel economy changed in 2008 to more accurately identify fuel mileage. Based on the previous rating system, the 2007 and earlier models average 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
