Embarking On The Journey Of Change.

Change, it hits you like a rock against water when you hear it, or think about the things you need to do in order to make a positive lasting change. Like the ripples spreading and moving outwardly. Each ring signifying, for me, a new level conquered and so on to the creation of the next ring in this exciting journey.

But too often we allow our fears to stop us from making that splash into the unknown, deeply rooted in our comfort zone we find it hard to break away and try something that we know we want to desperately achieve. How do we begin to make those changes, it begins with positively talking to yourself and having a belief that you can and will do what is necessary to change, knowing what our dreams or goals are and being firm upon taking action.

Sometimes thinking too far ahead can create a sense of defeat because you haven't considered the smaller steps that will help you to get to the bigger goal, so of course, for example, if you want to master the art of public speaking then perhaps starting with a small group of friends will be your first step then slowly moving on to your end goal.

Being realistic is also a factor to always keep in mind. Staying true to yourself whilst working through your changes can only be a good thing as you are more likely to stick with it. Remember just because you are moving out of your comfort zone doesn't mean that you have to make yourself feel uncomfortable.

Give your self a reasonable time frame for each activity. Take into considerations your current lifestyle and commitments, because these will impact on your ability to do the things you want. Try not to look at the examples of others and allow that to effect your efforts. If you see that Joe Blogs is making tremendous changes in his life within a couple of weeks whilst you are still working on your first goal in the third week, remember, that there are many things that must be considered that allowed Joe to excel where as you are still moving through yours at a pace that's good for you.

Without a doubt you know your limits your lifestyle and your end goal, don't be too hard on yourself, you want to get their don't you? So ask yourself, "what do I want to change in my life?" and then go for it.
