- 1). Choose different colors of embroidery thread, as many as you prefer, but you should have at least three, preferably colors that go well together.
- 2). Cut all the threads the same length, about 5 inches longer than the length that is required to wrap the thread around your wrist twice.
- 3). Tie all of your embroidery thread together at one end about 2 inches from the end of the thread.
- 4). Have someone else hold the tied end of the thread while you hold the untied end and pull it taut between the two of you.
- 5). Twist the thread as tightly as possible and keep twisting until the bracelet starts to want to coil itself. Once the bracelet starts to try and coil itself because it is so tightly twisted, while still holding the one end, place a finger from your other hand in the middle of the bracelet and fold the bracelet in half. The result should be the bracelet twisting around itself; tie the two ends together.
- 6). Wrap the friendship bracelet around your friend's wrist and push the tied ends through the looped end and tie them around the loop to themselves.
- 1). Choose either three, six or nine different colors of embroidery thread, again choosing colors that look good together.
- 2). Cut the thread about 3 inches longer than the length required to wrap it around your wrist.
- 3). Tie one end of the threads together about 2 inches from the end.
- 4). Slide a safety pin right under the knot you just tied, with the knot and short end of the threads above the pin, then pin the safety pin to the leg of your pants. This will hold the bracelet in place while you work on it.
- 5). Divide the threads into three, so if you chose six colors then you should have three groups of two and if you chose nine colors you should have three groups of three.
- 6). Braid the three groupings of threads just like you would braid your hair, by crossing one group over the other and then another group over another.
- 7). End the braid about 3 inches from the end of the thread and tie the ends together.
- 8). Wrap the bracelet around your friend's wrist and tie the two ends together.
