Caravan Motor Mover

You've bought the touring caravan, you've checked the maps, the car is packed up, the dogs been given to grandma to look after, the open road is calling you.
All that's left to do is attach the car to the caravan, how difficult can it be, right! It's usually at this point everyone realises the weight of the stuff they have packed into the caravan to go on holiday.
"It wasn't this difficult at the showroom" is the usual line most people will come out with the first time they try and hitch up after filling it with holiday clothes.
If you think that's heavy wait until the return journey home when you've bought half of Europe's beer and wine and a souvenir from every town you visited.
You finally resort to asking friends to come help you, but what is going to happen at your holiday destination? You'll have to get help from others, but it doesn't have to be like that.
Something that will very seldom be discussed at the caravan showroom will be the caravan motor mover .
It is something the showrooms use daily and often forgotten to get mentioned, the usefulness of these motorised caravan movers.
There are a few different manufacturers of caravan motor movers, Powrline, Truma, Reich, Rhyno to name a few, but in principle they all have the same function, to move your caravan for you.
There are models that will move double axle caravans weighing up to 2500kg just as easy as moving single axle caravans weighing a lot less.
Modern day caravan motor movers all come with some type of smooth start and stop to prevent your caravan lurching forwards or backwards.
They operate efficiently and all ground types even snow and muddy grass, you should never find yourself in a situation were you can't move your caravan.
They will pull your caravan up inclines and slowly drive it down hills just as safely.
Operating off a 12v battery, caravan motor movers work by pressing a course roller against the caravan tyres and slowly (30cm/min) turning.
The rollers can be operated simultaneously on each tyre to move in a straight line or independently to allow the caravan to turn.
All single and most double axel caravan motor movers will rotate the caravan on its own axes, reducing the space required to manoeuvre the caravan.
A caravan motor mover is such a beneficial addition to your caravan they should be fitted as standard in my opinion.
Unfortunately they are not, but it is something I recommend you invest in as soon as you purchase your caravan.
