The early days
Travelling to Palm Beach 80 years ago was a very different story then today, there was no defined roads, most travelled by horse and cart or coach along this long stretch of beach till they had to cross Tallebudgera Creek.

Even today there are still properties on the beachfront that were built around this period and are fondly called beach shacks. Some of these are available for holiday accommodation as stated previously, If only the walls could talk what an account they would tell about long hot summer holidays on the beach.

While staying here you must take a walk into the past along Jefferson Lane and see these beach shacks first hand, these old timber and fibro homes standing wedged between luxury beachfront homes along this laneway, before they are replaced by modern luxury dwellings. It's matter of time and this history will be gone forever.
