How to Burn an Audio CD From Music Files on a Computer

    In Windows 7

    • 1). Start the CD burning utility. Select the music files in Windows Explorer, then press "Burn" in the menu above the selection box.

    • 2). Insert a blank CD, then select the option to make an audio CD for playback in a CD player. This will ensure that the discs are burned in a format readable to a standard CD player.

    • 3). Select "Burn these files". The drive should open when the utility finishes burning the disk.

    Audio CD Burning in iTunes

    • 1). Start iTunes. Load your audio file into iTunes by selecting "Add Folder to Library" from the "File" menu.

    • 2). Choose your music library folder if you wish to load your whole music library into iTunes. If not, just choose the folder with the files you want to burn. Wait for iTunes to finish importing your music files.

    • 3). Create a new playlist by pressing Control-N or selecting "New Playlist" in the file menu. Name the playlist.

    • 4). Select "Music" under the "Library" heading on the upper right-hand edge of the iTunes screen. Select the files you wish to burn, drag them into your new playlist, and drop them there. The files should show up in the playlist, but their location on your disk has not been moved.

    • 5). In the menu on the left, select your playlist. Select the "Burn Disc" button on the lower right-hand corner of the iTunes window.

    • 6). Insert a blank audio CD. In the "Burn Settings" window that pops up, select "Audio CD", then press burn.
