- The most-asked question about Jordan is probably how safe the country is. It may actually be the safest country in the Middle East. Of course, with that being said, still take the same precautions you would for any other destination (such as don't wander off by yourself or carry expensive jewelry).
- Before traveling to Jordan there are several vaccinations you must be up-to-date on. If you're not sure, consult your doctor. The shots you will need are for typhoid, measles, mumps, rubella, polio, hepatitis B, yellow fever (this is required to be allowed into the country), diphtheria and tetanus.
- You will need a travel visa to be allowed into the country. There is no need to worry about this because you can receive a tourist visa (which is good for three months) upon entrance into the country. However, the King Hussein Bridge, which connects Israel and Palestine to Jordan, does not offer the visa, so do not plan on coming into the country that way.
- As long as you are not traveling from Australia or New Zealand, you will be perfectly fine in regard to money (Jordan does not widely accept the Australian or New Zealand dollar). In addition, ATMs can be found in almost every city and will accept standard debit cards, so you will be able to access your funds. Major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and America Express) are accepted in most locations in the country, and best of all there is no local charge on payments made with credit.
