If you bite your nails then you know that you often do it without even realizing it.
Sometimes a colleague or friend or family member will point it out to you that you are biting your nails and it is not until they say something that you even realize it.
For this system to work you have to try to be really aware of yourself and what you are doing.
It only requires 1 or 2 days to do and you will learn a lot about yourself and your nail biting habits from this simple test.
Stop Nail Biting Test 1) Carry around a pen and paper for the day (or 2 days for better results) 2) Make sure that every time you find yourself biting your nails, you write down the time, what it is you are doing, and what it is you are feeling.

10 am, you are about to have a meeting with the boss, and are feeling a bit anxious, 3) At the end of each day, look for patterns like your emotional state or the activity you are doing at the time you started to bite your nails.
Once you start to identify patterns or things that set off the nail biting habit then you have identified one or more of your subconscious triggers.
Once you have done this then you can begin the process of finding a cure to stop biting nails because you will know where to begin.
If you don't think that you will catch yourself all the time then tell a friend or coworker or partner to help you and tell you when you are biting your nails, this way you won't miss writing it down.
