How to Get Rid of Skin Tags - The Shocking Truth

Learning how to get rid of skin tags is not as difficult as the medical field would want you to believe.
These little lumps of skin are also called acrochordons and are classified as tumors, but not the same kind that causes cancer.
They are usually harmless to people, but they are not exactly the most aesthetic additions to your body.
If these tags are becoming a pain for you, then here are some things you can do to get rid of your problem: #1 Getting rid of skin tags in a pinch Snip it off with a pair of scissors.
This is probably the most straightforward method of getting rid of the tags.
Simply disinfect the area around the skin with some alcohol, soak a pair of very sharp scissors in alcohol, grit your teeth and snip off the offending skin tag.
It's as simple as that.
You can even deaden the pain by holding an ice cube on the skin around the tag for about five minutes.
Just remember to keep the wound sterile for a day or two.
A bandage and some povidone iodine will come in very handy for this purpose.
#2 How to get rid of tags without bleeding Tie it up and choke it with a string.
Not everybody is willing to cut the skin themselves, and there is one effective method for achieving the same results without self-surgery.
Simply take a length of dental floss (about seven to nine inches) and tightly wrap it around the skin tag.
This should choke the blood supply of the skin tag, and the body's natural processes will recognize it as dead skin - forcing it to fall off after a while.
You may want to ask somebody else to do the tying for you, as the string has to be very tight in order to prevent the blood from flowing back in.
You also have to maintain the tie for about a week or so before the skin tag dies and falls off.
#3 How to get rid of tags in the long run Drink lots of water, Surprised? Yes, water plays a role in preventing the regeneration of skin tags and other similar conditions like moles and warts.
A constantly dehydrated body will find its inner workings stressed out and pushed to the limits.
This promotes the breakdown of smooth bodily processes, especially when it comes to the sweat glands and blood vessels located near the skin.
Keeping the body well hydrated allows the blood and skin cells to develop naturally while minimizing the growth of abnormal cells - in this case tags.
Drinking six to eight glasses a day is a good measure of hydration, but you may have to drink more if you are constantly sweating.
This will not get rid of your skin tags, but will definitely help in preventing them from popping back up once you get rid of them.
